Labor Did It. Liberal/Coalition Governments Did It. Federal Governments Did It. State Governments Did It.
For decades, governments of both major political persuasions have sold, privatised, leased or transferred public assets that Australians spent generations building.
Banks. Airports. Ports. Electricity generators. Electricity networks. Gas infrastructure. Rail. Telecommunications. Insurance. Land registries. Forestry. Defence industries.
Once these assets leave public ownership, Australians don’t just lose the asset. They can also lose the future income, strategic control and public leverage that came with it.
Before politicians tell Australians there is nothing left to sell, perhaps they should explain where everything we already owned went.
