Voter Fraud Is Not a Myth — The Systems Are Broken and No One Knows the Full Scale
For years the official line has been that noncitizen voting and registration are so rare they barely register. That claim collapses under the weight of actual discoveries. Software glitches, self-attestation under penalty of perjury, automatic voter registration, and government-funded NGOs handing paperwork to illegal aliens have all produced noncitizens on the rolls. Until states fully clean those rolls with citizenship verification and prosecute the cases that surface, nobody has any idea how bad the problem actually is.
Documented Failures, Not Theories
In New Jersey, a Motor Vehicle Commission software error registered thousands of people who had explicitly indicated they were not U.S. citizens. Hundreds of them later cast ballots. The state’s own Democratic governor announced it. The system simply ignored the citizenship answer and put them on the rolls anyway.
Michigan’s state audit, matching driving records against the Qualified Voter File, found noncitizens who had voted in the 2024 general election. Local clerks flagged still more through jury-excuse lists. Federal investigators have taken interest. These are not anonymous social-media claims; they are official findings from the states themselves.
The National Voter Registration Act forces DMVs and public-benefit offices to offer voter registration forms to almost everyone who walks through the door — including noncitizens applying for licenses or benefits. Self-attestation is the primary safeguard. That is not a robust system. It is an invitation to error and abuse.
NGOs At The Border And Beyond
During the years of open borders, congressional testimony laid out how government-funded NGOs became the final link in the chain.
Cleta Mitchell told the House Judiciary Committee that left-wing groups receiving taxpayer money to resettle illegal immigrants were assisting them with driver’s licenses, ID cards, and, in too many instances, voter registration.
New York City contracts with migrant-shelter operators required those operators to distribute voter registration forms to people applying for services. The city later claimed the requirement applied only to eligible citizens, but the contract language did not say that.
These practices were raised while Democrats controlled the House. Deeper investigation was blocked or minimized. When NGOs meet illegal aliens at the border or in shelters and hand them stacks of paperwork that include registration forms, the pathway onto the voter rolls is wide open. Combine that with automatic registration systems and weak citizenship checks, and the only honest answer is that no one knows the full extent until the rolls are systematically scrubbed.
The Principle That Matters
Even one illegal vote cancels one legal citizen’s vote.
In close races, that margin decides outcomes.
Pretending the problem is imaginary while official audits keep turning up noncitizens who registered and voted is not journalism or good faith. It is narrative protection.
The Heritage Foundation’s Election Fraud Database contains multiple confirmed instances of noncitizen registration and voting over the years. State audits and local clerks continue to find more.
The pattern is consistent:
- When someone bothers to look, noncitizens appear on the rolls.
- When no one looks, the problem is declared nonexistent.
What Must Happen
- Require proof of citizenship to register.
- Cross-check every roll against federal immigration databases.
- Prosecute those who vote illegally.
- Stop treating citizenship verification as an attack on democracy.
Until those steps are taken, claims that “there is no reason to secure the elections” are simply false.
The systems have already failed in documented cases.
The only remaining question is how many more failures remain hidden because the rolls have never been properly cleaned.
