Judge Charged with Federal Child Exploitation Offence

James B. Gosnell Jr. has been charged with six federal counts relating to the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. According to federal authorities, investigators recovered hundreds of videos and images, including material reportedly depicting infants and toddlers.
The charges arise from digital evidence seized during an ongoing law enforcement investigation. If proven, the scale and nature of the alleged material point to conduct that is not incidental or accidental, but sustained and deliberate.
These are not minor procedural breaches. They concern the exploitation of the most vulnerable members of society. The gravity of the accusations stands in direct and damning contrast to the standards expected of any public official — let alone a sitting judge.
Power does not mitigate culpability. It magnifies it.
