Case reference: MAID-XX-2026-HSA2 · Province not stated in sources · MAID raised by others; not requested · Recorded by the register as a MAID victim

Who he was

He was the father of the X user @Axle338 and two daughters. He wanted to live and to be treated.

What happened

His child wrote: “Over the course of 10 days 4 different doctors very aggressively tried to convince my dad to get MAID. He wanted to live & get treated.” And: “They pushed maid with in 3 days. Said there was procedures they can do. ‘Not in Canada’ they say.”

Why they were pushed toward MAID

The treatment he needed was available in the U.S. or Europe but not in Canada, and the doctors offered death instead. “I lost my dad advocating for treatment. They had none available in Canada only USA or Europe. Their solution was maid or go home to die,” his child wrote. “He didn’t get maid cause me & 2 sisters were there but they were trying to convince him to get it or just leave.”

What his family says

“They also constantly tried to convince him to stop all treatments. They are very convincing & if not for us kids there I could see many just opting for it,” his child wrote. “My dad would still be alive today most likely.”

What this case shows

Four doctors pushed MAID on a man who wanted treatment. He later died, and only his children’s presence prevented a MAID death. His case shows how MAID is pushed when care exists only abroad.
