Both Labor and Liberal have rotted from the inside out. They don’t represent the people — they represent themselves. Fifty years of back-room deals, stitched-up electoral rules, gerrymandered preferences, party-stacking, donor laundering, and judicial protection rackets have turned what should be a democracy into a smug little two-party cartel.
This was never how the Constitution was meant to function. But when the only people with the power to sack corrupt judges are the corrupt politicians who benefit from those judges… congratulations, you’ve built a political ecosystem where accountability goes to die.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Labor and Liberal locked arms, fortified the gates, and rewired the system so thoroughly that “voting” is now a ceremonial ritual — a compulsory placebo. The public gets the theatre. They get the power.
One day, when this whole stitched-up duopoly finally collapses under its own arrogance and decay, voting will actually mean something again. One day we’ll have real suffrage — not this compulsory charade dressed up as democracy.
Until then, the two-party racket will keep clinging to power like barnacles on a sinking ship, swearing everything is “working as intended.”
Because for them, it is.
